ALLEVYN CLASSIC is a highly absorbent hydrocellular foam designed for use on moderate to highly exuding wounds. It has an advanced triple-layer design that provides a moist healing environment that promotes the healing process. It is indicated for chronic and acute, full thickness, partial thickness or granulated wounds, including: lower limb ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites, surgical wounds, infected wounds and burns (first and second degree). Clinically supported for the Prevention of Pressure Injuries.
It has rounded and sealed edges that prevent exudate leakage.
It retains the exudate in its central layer. It can be used under compressive bandages.
Its outer layer is impermeable to water and bacteria, but lets out exudate in the form of steam. It is not occlusive.
Easy to remove. It does not adhere, does not disintegrate and does not cause pain to the patient.
Minimizes dressing changes. It can remain in the wound for up to 7 days or according to the protocol of each institution.
Maintains its cushioning effect under pressure and releases pressure, which allows its use to prevent and heal pressure injuries.
